Chaery Yoon is a Seoul-born, Berlin-based Light Designer and Creative Technologist. She focuses on interactive, light-based visuals and real-time audiovisual environments. Coming from a sculptural background, she creates immersive and responsive spaces that explore human-centered phenomena and speculative narratives.
Her visual language combines atmospheric abstractions with real-time control, responding to sound, performance, and audience movement. Light is both the material and the metaphor, while intensity, rhythm, and texture act as sculptural elements in both physical and digital spaces. She works with TouchDesigner, Unreal Engine, sensors, and lighting systems (GrandMA2/3, Capture).
In 2024, her VR work 'Luminal' premiered at the Manifest:IO Symposium at Haus der Visionäre in Berlin. A narrative version was later presented in TOO SOON TO SAY, curated by Nebyula for Various Others at Bayerischer Hof in Munich. She has also created a light-based campaign for RE:PUBLICA/Tincon and worked as a lighting designer on projects with Ableton, Creamcake, ASID, LUNA, and Club[8].
